ISWPL was the first Wire Drawing Plant in India and was established in the year 1920. It primarily manufactures Wire Rods, TMT Rebars, and Wires. In 1991, Jamshedpur Engineering and Machine Manufacturing Company (JEMCO) – which is in the business of Rolls, Engineering Castings and Zinc Refinement - was merged with ISWPL and now operates as a Division of ISWPL.
ISWPL is a subsidiary of Tata Steel Ltd. It is a profit making organization with a positive net worth. It has its Registered Office at Kolkata, West Bengal.
ISWPL has 4 major business verticals:
Wire Rods and TMT Rebars
are produced at the Wire Rod Mill. The Mill has a capacity to produce 240000 MT of Finished Goods per annum. The Mill is presently dedicated towards production of finished products exclusively for Tata Steel Long Products Division. This Mill is the only mill in India which can produce 6mm TMT Rebars.
are produced at the Wire Mill which has a capacity to produce 50000 MT per annum. This Mill primarily produces H B Wires, Barbed Wires, P C Wires, and Galvanized Wires for the Tata Steel Wire Division.
is in the business of Rolls, Engineering Castings, and Zinc Dross Refining, with an approximate annual capacity of 5000 MT. It is the industry leader in the domestic Hollow Roll segment, and also exports its products primarily to Middle East and Turkey.
ISWPL has more than 800 employees on its rolls and has a vast infrastructure which includes a township with more than 800 houses, one school with more than 2500 children, a 20-bed hospital, Sport Complex, Water Purification Plant, etc. The company has a commendable safety record, and is adequately focused on CSR, Environment and Health for all stakeholders including local communities.
